I was inspecting the under side of my Roo yesterday and noticed that the front bar (cross member) holding my water tank (fresh water) was bent in the middle.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Looks like the back bar (cross member)is sagging when the tank if full.  We do most of our camping dry so we fill our water before we go because there is no place to fill along the way. I am going to have to take my roo in for some work so will have them fix it too.

thanks for any info

Tom,

If you are talking about the 2 l brackets that go across the tank, I checked mine and the are straight across. As Chuck said pics would help.

sorry cant do a picture but i can explain better.  Fresh water tank,  the two L medal bars that go side to side and is on the front edge and back edge of the tank.  now where the two L medal connects to the front bar is where it is bent.  Right where it connects to the front bar.  now that i see a least one other that has it, it will be checked out when i take it it...   more wanting to know it this it happening a lot or not.  More ammunition to have...lol.  I will also ask about the Frig fan that is in back of the fig on whether it should start and stop all the time..

Your fridge fan is thermostatically controlled and will turn on / off automatically as required.

update on the bent bar under the fresh water tank.  they fixed what was there than welded a piece of flat bar to it so it looks like that will do it.

Glad to hear it is fixed.  We haven't gotten ours down to the dealer just yet.

yeah the service tec said that forest river says to only fill 1/2 when driving.  Only problem with that is we dry camp with no place to fill water.  I will keep my eye on  the other one to see if it bends.

That's a ridiculous response from any tech ... I wouldn't own any trailer I couldn't safely tow with any of the three tanks as full as I may want them to be at any time.  Rather than "keep an eye" on this you'd be wise to properly secure ALL your tanks now and eliminate any chance of failure ... if you think losing your fresh water tank would be bad just consider the mess created if your black water tank should fail. DH took ours in Monday to get our couch replaced and he had them look at the bar on the FW tank while he was there.  The tech told him it was made that way.  I will be watching these forums to see what others find out.

I am not sure what you mean by overfill.  When i go dry camping i fill my tank,  there is no marks to go by when filling.  I do not fill with a high rate of water if that is what you mean.
When the tank is full before it bent the brackets holding the tank has a bow in it becuause of the water.  it bent where one of the brackets that go under the tank meet but it is fixed now and i will keep a watch on the back one..

did you over fill the tank?  this can bow the brackets, seen it happen.
